The last DVLA Private number plate auction of the year has now finished with an amazing result yet again. Thousands of buyers turned up to bid at the auction at the Tankersley Manor venue in South Yorkshire, to claim their favorite number plate.
Fifteen Hundred and Ninety Eight registration numbers were included in the DVLA auction, that number originally been Sixteen Hundred but a few were removed as they may have caused offence to the public so they were pulled out of the auction at the last minute.
In total there were One Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety Eight number plates sold, rasing over Four Millions pounds for the treasury.
The famous 6 O fetched the highest bid, reaching an amazing £81,000. This is the latest plate in the 6 series following 1 O, 2 O, 3 O, 4 O and 5 O, sold in previous dvla auctions.
The highest name plate sold was JOE 1H (Joel H) which fetched Twelve Thousand Pounds
DVLA is celebrating it's 20th year of selling private registration numbers, and they still exceed their own expectations every year with fantastic results.
