The Porsche brand is famous the world over for sports, race and performance cars. Company founders Ferdinand Porsche and his son Ferdinand (“Ferry”) first set up their operations with 200 workers in 1948.

Their first success was the 356. Although having only 40bhp from a rear-mounted Beetle engine the first Porsche quickly did well, offering speed and performance along with comfort and reliability.

Porsche developed their own engines in the '50s, and after the 356 came their signature model, the Porsche 911. Introduced in 1964, this revolutionary rear-engines car has continued to evolve ever since and is considered by many to be the ultimate sports car.
